Cisco Unity Connection version 8.5
It has been a pleasure to blog this past month and listening to your comments regarding Cisco Unity Connection and the various Cisco voicemail products. I hope that you found it informative whether you currently have implemented Cisco Unity Connection, considering different products, or pilot testing a future possible solution.
If Cisco Unity Connection is the product you are deciding to implement, or have already implemented, and are looking to know more…. I would like to recommend a new Cisco Press text that will be hitting the self in June. This is the book called, Cisco Unity Connection.
The purpose and vision for this book started a few years back with the release of v7.x, where I noticed Cisco Unity Connection gaining momentum in the marketplace through the increased number of features, network capabilities (digital networking), and redundant server (using active/active cluster pairs). It truly has become an enterprise solution.
As the demand for Cisco Unity Connection has increased I have seen an increase in demand for this product beyond all current voicemail offering that Cisco provides. This increased demand has left a need for clear understanding of the product, its design, implementation, configuration, administration and maintenance. This was the vision of Cisco Unity Connection, covering version 8.5 features and configuration.
As we all know, there are a number of documents, white papers, on-line administration and installation guides that assist the engineer and administrator and provide an explanation of the concepts. However, the missing element is a single text that both engineers and administrators are able to read and understand the concepts, elements and configuration of Cisco Unity Connection. The text uses clear descriptions, instructions and real-world scenarios and case studies to help apply these concepts and raise the level of understanding of the reader. Configurations and concepts of Cisco Unity Connection 8.5 software and features are covered in the text.
This book is designed for both implementation engineers and administrators, involved in a new implementation, upgrade or expanding their voicemail deployments using digital and VPIM networking. It is also important for organization to understand the proper maintenance required with a current implementation. Since this is intended to be a comprehensive guide to the product, all the necessary subject matter needed to support Cisco Unity Connection will be addressed in detail.
This will be informative reading for any individuals involved in the design, implementation and administration of Cisco Unity Connection in their networks. It is my desire that this helpful to you and your organization by promoting your understanding and working knowledge of Cisco Unity Connection.
