Massachusetts taxpayers get two extra days
It’s the least they can do.
Massachusetts businesses and individuals who rely on special Department of Revenue Web applications to file quarterly tax payments will get a two-day reprieve from today’s scheduled deadline in the wake of an outage that began over the weekend and was fixed only last night.
A statement from the Department of Revenue reads:
DOR’s WebFile for Business and WebFile for Income applications (WFB/WFI) have returned to service. At some time over the weekend, after the installation of a maintenance patch, those applications went down.
To provide taxpayers with more time to meet the tax filing deadline of June 15 for various corporate, business and personal income tax payments, DOR will recognize tax payments filed by midnight June 17th through WFB/WFI as timely filed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
Like I said, it’s the least they can do.
