It’s about time – Google and antitrust

Google doesn't like it when the shoe's on the other foot

On March 1, in a story in the Wall Street Journal, Google stated “It’s become clear that our competitors are scouring court documents around the world looking for complaints against Google into which they can inject themselves, learn more about our business practices, and use that information to develop a broader antitrust complaint against us.”

Well gee surprise. Hasn’t Google doing that against its competitors – like Microsoft? One recent example – Google pushed the EU to force Microsoft to let users choose their browser.

Given that Google controlled 65% of the US search market as of February (according to comScore), I’d say its tit for tat. It’s interesting that it’s bad to be a monopoly when its about Microsoft, but when its about Google, now its not fair to raise the antitrust flag.
