After three plus years and 66 commercials, Apple recently pulled the plug on its popular "Get a Mac" ad campaign
After a 3+ year run, it appears that Apple has finally pulled the plug on its popular “Get a Mac” commercials starring John Hodgman as the PC and Justin Long as the Mac. Though Long’s somewhat sarcastic and holier-than-thou portrayal of the Mac irked some viewers, there’s no doubt that the premise as a whole was popular with viewers and presented the benefits of owning a Mac in a lighthearted and fun way – all at the expense of the PC, of course. In total, Apple produced over 66 “Get a Mac” ads.
Apple recently removed all of the “Get a Mac” commercials from its website, and users attempting to visit that area of Apple’s site are now redirected to Apple’s newly created “Why you’ll love a Mac” page. All in all, this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given that the last time Apple released a new “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” ad was all the way back in October of 2009.
In any event, here’s a look back at the first “Get a Mac” ad that ever aired. “You should see what this guy can do with a spreadsheet, it’s insane.“
