With just one week before Steve Jobs takes the stage at WWDC and introduces the next-gen iPhone, a website from the Czech Republic has confirmed that the iPhone 4G will come with a high-res 960x640 IPS display.
With just one week before Steve Jobs takes the stage at WWDC and introduces the next-gen iPhone, a website from the Czech Republic has confirmed that the iPhone 4G will come with a high-res 960×640 IPS display.
Now, this isn’t entirely new information, and was first brought up in late March, but the website SuperiPhone.cz apparently got its hands on an actual iPhone 4G display, put it under a microscope, and confirmed without question that the display will, in fact, be 960×640. The current iPhone display clocks in at 480×320.
At 960×640, the iPhone 4G will effectively sport the highest res screen out of any other smartphone on the market with 320 dpi. The Nexus One and the Motorola Droid sport screens at 252 dpi and 265 dpi respectively.
Also of note is that the iPhone 4G display is noticeably thinner than previous versions and will include the same IPS technology found in the iPad. In case you’re unfamiliar, IPS is the technology that gives the iPad its generous viewing angles.
