SMBs are ahead of larger organizations with nearly one-third deploying VoIP firewalls
This week the topic is session initiation protocol (SIP) security. Nemertes finds 21.1% of organizations adopting a VoIP firewall. Adoption of a SIP gateway is a subcomponent of the VoIP firewall number. It turns out that small-to-midsize businesses (SMB) are ahead of larger organizations with nearly one-third deploying VoIP firewalls. The bottom line is nearly 80% of organizations have no plans to do any special VoIP or SIP security. This is a great concern given the rise in VoIP and SIP attacks and exploits.
