Part of the fun of working on tech research projects has to be coming up with catchy names for them. The latest to cross our path is “Gush,” a project headed by Jeannie Albrecht of Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. The assistant professor of computer science has come up with Gush to control and manage experiments being done to support the Global Environment for Network Innovations (GENI), an NSF-backed effort to support experimental network and engineering research.
Albrecht is heading one of 29 teams building GENI prototypes.
Gush is actually an extension of another creation called Plush, which is used to support big net management systems.
