Juniper seen as acquirer, not target; F5 attracting Cisco, HP?
A report late Friday (EST) by TheStreet.com has data center M&A activity stirring again, but this time an anticipated quarry is now the predator. Juniper is rumored to be on the prowl for a “data center or storage shop.”
Juniper has until now been speculation fodder as an acquiree, not an acquirer. And its taste for $1 billion or larger acquisitions may have soured with 2004’s NetScreen purchase, the Street sheet notes.
Cisco is believed to be sizing up F5, but HP may swoop in and grab it from its partner-tuned-enemy, the story says.
