Data leak prevention technology added to IronPort e-mail security appliances
Colleague Ellen Messmer has the scoop on Cisco adding data leak prevention capabilities to its IronPort e-mail security appliances. RSA will supply its DLP scanning technology to the Cisco products, Messmer writes.
The integration of DLP with IronPort marks the first fruit of the year-old partnership between Cisco and RSA. At that time, Cisco expressed broader ambitions for the RSA technology — like adding it to routers and switches — but those intentions have yet to pan out, Messmer writes.
And analysts don’t see much else coming from it over the next year. Is this another partnership long on vision and short on deliverables?
