Microsoft opens PDC registration with a contest for Windows 7 apps
Microsoft has opened registration for its professional developers conference and this year, like last, you can expect the star of the show to be Windows 7. As part of the pre-show hype Microsoft has launched a contest dubbed Code7, where developers of Windows 7 apps compete for cash prizes (totalling $17,777), free trips to PDC and other goodies. The show will take place in Los Angeles Nov 17 – 19.
Those interested in competing for the cash will upload a video of their app to the Code7 site.
New this year, too, will be the Technical Leaders sessions lead by the Technical Fellows at Microsoft.
The show will also showcase the programming innards of up-and-coming technologies like Office 2010, Windows Azure and Visual Studio 2010.
