While you can never know anything for certain when it comes to Apple rumors, leaked photos of the upcoming iPod Touch recently emerged and all but guarantee that the Touch line will soon be receiving video camera functionality.
Microsoft has made a lot of noise recently with the impending release of the Zune HD, a multitouch media device set to compete head to head with the iPod Touch. If recent pricing leaks are to be believed, the Zune HD will be aggressively priced with a 16 GB model selling for $220 and a 32 GB model selling for $290. This pricing noticably undercuts the current pricing for the iPod Touch, but Apple is rumored to be introducing a new pricing structure for its iPod Touch lineup this fall which should leave the folks over at Redmond at a loss yet again. According to the reputable Apple news site DaringFireball, Apple is planning to release the new video enabled iPod Touch in capacities of 16, 32, and 64 GB. They will be priced at $199, $299, and $399 respectively.
Lastly, the presence of a video camera on the Touch coupled with the 60,000 + apps on the iTunes App Store should make the choice between the upcoming Zune HD and the new iPod Touch a no brainer.
