As the iPhone 3G launch draws near, operators are starting to announce pricing. Swedish operator TeliaSonera will charge from 1 Swedish krona (US$0.16) for the 8G-byte version.
But to get that price users will have sign up for the iMaxi plan for 24 months. The plan costs 859 Swedish kronor per month, and includes 1,000 minutes, 1,000 SMS (Short Message Service) messages and 1,000M bytes of data transmission.
Users who want the 16G-byte version, and choose the same 24-month plan (an 18-month version is also available), will have to cough up 795 Swedish kronor for the phone.
The most expensive iPhone 3G, plan combination will cost 3,295 Swedish kronor. With this option, subscribers choose the 16G-byte phone and the iMini plan for 18 months, which costs 299 Swedish kronor, and includes 100 minutes, 100 SMS messages and 100M bytes of data transmission.
A third plan is also available. It is called iMidi, and includes 250 minutes, 250 SMS messages and 250M bytes of data transmission for 489 Swedish kronor per month.
Each plan includes access to TeliaSonera hot spots.
The top brass at TeliaSonera has high hopes for the July 11 launch. It has seen a huge interest around iPhone 3G, according to Håkan Dahlström, head of Mobility Services at TeliaSonera.
