Description: The MotoQ 9m is a multimedia PDA and cell phone that plays music and video, can receive corporate e-mails and take pictures. The device weighs a minuscule 4.8 ounces and measures 4.6- by 2.5- by 0.47-inches, which allows the device to easily slip into your pants pocket. You can transfer files onto the device through a mini-USB cable and you can download multimedia files through Verizon’s VCast audio and video service. The device operates on Windows Mobile 6, which took a little learning period, as I’m used to the BlackBerry interface.
I liked the device for all of its features, but also felt it was missing a few things. I really would have liked to seen some GPS and mapping capabilities, especially because Verizon’s own VZ Navigator application is available on most of their other phones. I liked the feel of the device, as it had a wheel for navigation, just like some earlier BlackBerry models. I also liked the expandable memory, the MotoQ 9m could support up to 4GB of memory through a mini-SD card.
While I wasn’t completely comfortable using the device, I’m sure that using it every day would make me feel more comfortable, both as a work device and multimedia player.
