Description: The Session Music Producer is the make-music-now vocal studio for your PC. The package includes a large diaphragm USB microphone, desktop stand and Session Music Producer software. The software is similar to Apple’s Garage Band if you are familiar with that. I didn’t have any problems with hardware or software installation on a Windows XP notebook.

The microphone houses a mini-headphone jack for monitoring while recording. For song creation, the software includes more than 1,200 loops and instruments to drag and drop into your arrangement. The loop names contain song parts such as intro, verse, chorus, prechorus, so some knowledge of song structure or a little time with the tutorials will certainly help make your composition sound somewhat coherent.

To create a vocal track, you can easily sing into the microphone, and then record a track of vocals and apply effects, such as reverb and echo, which will make a good voice sound better and a bad voice sound worse. When you’re happy with the way things sound, you can export the song as Windows Media Audio or a WAV file. You will need another application to convert those file types into an MP3 file.

The software/hardware package created lots of fun and entertainment for about $100.
