It seems there’s no end to the improving and polishing that Windows requires. Consider the Windows XP Task Manager – it’s awful. If you are anywhere beyond the noob level this is a tool you are going to want to replace with something like Process Explorer (which we recently discussed).

Backspin: Bridging the reality gap
See that photo of me over on the left? Guess what? I don’t look like that! I swear I don’t. I hate that picture. It makes me look bloated and far too damn happy, which is all wrong. The gap between reality (my photo) and the reality I want (a new, better photo) is what matters, and the important thing is that this gap only matters if you care about it. When you do, well, you’ll do anything to close the gap.

Way Off Topic: Spear-Wielding Chimps
According to an article, Spear-Wielding Chimps Seen Hunting Bush Babies, in Science Magazine (subscription required): “Researchers in Senegal recently spotted wild chimpanzees biting the tips of sticks, which they then used like spears to jab small primates called bush babies, they report in the 6 March issue of Current Biology.” The article was written by Ann Gibbons. Honest.
Steampunk Keyboard
If you are an admirer of the style known as “steampunk” or if you just like stuff with a cool look here’s something that may make you drool: It is a glass, nickel, and brass keyboard in steampunk style fabricated by Hieronymus Isambard “Jake” von Slatt of Steampunk Workshop out of an old IBM model M keyboard.
