Telecom deal comes on heels of big GM contract win for AT&T
Forbes magazine is reporting that the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded AT&T a contract extension valued at $11.5 million.
The article says AT&T will provide video services to the Department of Defense agency through August.
DISA awarded AT&T the contract Feb. 28. Neither AT&T nor the DoD issued a press release about the deal.
This is on the heels of a larger contract win for AT&T. The carrier announced Feb. 21 that it nabbed a nearly $1 billion contract with GM.
The contract, an extension of an existing five-year relationship, includes IP VPN services that run over the carrier’s global MPLS network. GM also is using local, long distance, voice mail, conferencing, Internet access and business-continuity services from AT&T. And AT&T will also manage its contracts with other carriers in key markets throughout the world.
