Hacker breaks into Mac at security conference, 04/20/07
A hacker managed to break into a Mac and win a $10,000 prize as part of a contest started at the CanSecWest security conference in Vancouver.
IBM ups System z9 mainframe security, 04/20/07
IBM Friday announced enhanced security features for its System z9 Business Class mainframe. The new features include IPSec-based network encryption using IBM’s zIIP crypto engine, as well as host-based public-key encryption based on its CryptoExpress2 hardware module.
Oracle releases delayed Windows database patch, 04/20/07
Oracle probably worried some DBAs earlier this week when it released its Critical Patch Update, but neglected its most critical database flaw of the quarter for 9.2.0.8 users on the Windows platform.
