I’m having a hard time understanding the appeal of designer gadgets – have they become the new status symbol for the wealthy geek, or am I just too interested in tech features, speeds and feeds to give two hoots about what the device looks like or other special branding the device may have?

Verizon Wireless offers daily V CAST option
If you’ve wanted to try the whole music/video download to your cell phone thing, but didn’t want to sign up for a monthly subscription, there’s now a new option. Verizon Wireless today announced a daily subscription option for its V CAST service that lets users try mobile video for $3 for a 24-hour period.
