How to extend your arms by 18 inches
Get your mind out of the gutter. I’m talking about the difficulty of taking a photo of yourself, or with your spouse when you’re on vacation. Instead of asking some stranger to take your picture (you know how bad THEY are with digital cameras), you can now do it yourself with the Quikpod, a $24.95 extendable handheld tripod.
A camera or camcorder attaches to the Quikpod through the standard tripod mounting hole, the company says. When extended, the Quikpod gives users an extra 18 inches in arm length to improve the distance between them and the camera. The 3.5-oz. device collapses down to 7.5 inches for portability.
In addition to extending horizontally, the Quikpod can be used vertically to go over the top of large gatherings or crowds. Now you don’t have to elbow that tall person standing in front of you at the Christmas parade in order to get a good photo of Santa.
