OtterBox makes rugged BlackBerry cases
It’s probably not the best idea to give BlackBerry fanatics additional places where they can feed their wireless e-mail addiction, but there may be times when using a BlackBerry in a rugged condition is required for a job. In that case, OtterBox recently announced its 1930 and 1931 cases, designed to protect BlackBerry 8700 and 7200 series devices. The 1930 case is $130 through the OtterBox Web site. The 1931 case is coming soon.

Palm enables Exchange ActiveSync for Treo 680 and 700p models
Palm this week announced availability of the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Update for Palm OS devices for the Treo 680 and 700p smart phones. While these devices have been able to access Exchange Server data before (through Palm’s VersaMail client), the new update adds Microsoft’s Direct Push technology, which speeds up and automates wireless updates of e-mail, calendar and contact data, Palm says. The update will be available via download on Monday, Jan. 29.

Kyocera mobile router now supports EV-DO Rev. A
One of the devices I had fun with last year just got an upgrade. Kyocera Wireless recently announced its KR1 Mobile Router now supports CDMA EV-DO Revision A technology. Current KR1 users can download a free firmware upgrade at the company’s Web site.
