Tumbleweed Communications on Wednesday announced the latest release of its managed file-transfer software that lets corporations move data securely across the Internet.
SecureTransport 4.6 manages secure file transfers, such as those done by financial institutions to move funds, healthcare organizations to supply patient information, and government agencies to share sensitive documents, the company says.
Version 4.6 supports OpenPGP encryption and lets customers use automatic signature validation. Supported protocols include HTTP, FTP, SFTP, SCP, and AS2. The version also has an improved interface, making it easier for administrators to manage accounts, transfers, cluster operations and reporting, the company says.
With SecureTransport, organizations can replace expensive dedicated business-partner connections with low-cost Internet transmission and make sure the data sent across remains secure, according to Tumbleweed officials. SecureTransport also audits and reports on the data sent for regulatory compliance purposes, they say. Administrators can manage multiple file-transfer sites from one integrated console.
SecureTransport 4.6 client/server software starts at $30,000 for 100 users. The software also is available on a dedicated appliance for an additional cost, which starts at $4,200.
