Nokia CTO has landed the CEO job at a Finnish electronics company and will leave Nokia on April 1, the cell phone handset and equipment maker said Wednesday.

Pertti Korhonen, Nokia’s CTO and executive vice president of technology platforms, will leave the company to become CEO of Elektrobit Group Oyj, a manufacturer of various products and testing systems for the wireless industry, Nokia said in a statement. Korhonen has been with Nokia for almost 20 years.

As a result of his departure the company will make Niklas Savander its executive vice president of technology platforms from April 1. Savander, who currently heads-up the mobile devices business unit in Nokia’s enterprise group, will also join the company’s board. Tero Ojanpera, who is currently an executive vice president and chief strategy officer, will assume the responsibility for Nokia’s technology strategy from the same date, the company said.
