Graphics chip maker Nvidia named Jay Puri its new senior vice president of worldwide sales, the company said Tuesday.

Puri, who joins Nvidia from Sun where he worked for 22 years in sales, marketing and general management, will take over from Jeff Fisher, who has taken another position at Nvidia. Most recently, Puri worked as a vice president managing all of Sun’s business in the Asia-Pacific, including Japan, Korea, China, ASEAN countries, and Australia and India, Nvidia says.

Fisher has been named senior vice president of Nvidia’s GeForce Business Unit, which includes all desktop and notebook PC graphics processing unit products, according to Nvidia.
