Juniper recorded another strong quarter, thanks to increased demand for its router and security products. The No. 2 router vendor posted fourth-quarter sales of $430 million and earnings of $.15 per share. …Lucent couldn’t absorb some of that Juniper shine for its own results. Net profit was down 50% from a year ago in Lucent’s fiscal first quarter while revenue increased slightly to $2.34 billion — or 3.4%. Wireless is driving revenue growth while wireline struggles. Nonetheless, Lucent expects a 4% to 6% increase in revenue for fiscal year 2005 compared to 2004, a performance it believes will equal or beat the rest of the market growth rate.
