Microsoft researchers target worms, buffer overruns
Microsoft’s fifth-annual TechFest provided a glimpse into the technologies of the future that might be coming out of the Redmond software giant. Many centered around security – defending against worms and the like. And one technology detected network bandwidth constraints and reacted accordingly.

CA warns of security holes in license tool
Computer Associates and security firms are warning users about a number of serious security holes in software that manages CA product licenses and is distributed with almost every piece of software the company sells.

SCO to restate 2004 financial results
The SCO Group plans to restate its financial results for the first three quarters of its fiscal year 2004, due to accounting errors, the company announced Thursday. The announcement comes as SCO is fighting to prevent a Nasdaq delisting for failing to file its 2004 annual report on time.
