Polo confirms data security problem

Yesterday, we told you how HSBC Bank had sent letters to more than 180,000 of its credit card customers, warning that their card information may have been stolen during a security breach at a U.S. retailer. Today, Polo Ralph Lauren has identified itself as the U.S. retailer at the center of this scare over stolen customer data. The company said late Thursday that some of its customers’ credit card information may have been “misappropriated.”
