* More tips for NetWare tools and a plea for new tools
Some readers think I spend too much time looking for and pointing out Novell’s problems and too little time on “good news” items. To address that, I provided a “good news” item in last week’s newsletter about TaskMaster. But to show I’m fair, I need to point out an embarrassing error in that newsletter, which my good friend Jim Henderson at Novell so kindly pointed out (it’s amazing, I could almost hear him chortling in the e-mail). The fellow who created TaskMaster, the guy I’ve known for 15 years, a friend and colleague of mine and a friend of NetWare for all those years is named Steve MEYER, not Steve Myers! Steve, himself, refrained from pointing this out I might add.
Another reader suggested that this would be a good time for my annual reminder about the great NetWare utility package from New Zealander John Baird. The JRBUtils have been available for every version of NetWare since 3.11 right up through 6.5. The command line tools allow for a fine-grained look at, and management of, your NetWare installation. Try them (https://www.jrbsoftware.com/) and you will like them.

I’ll occasionally mention some others, but the really sad fact is that in going through my links to NetWare product and utility vendors well over 90% led either to unknown domains or to companies that are no longer involved with NetWare.
