Netgear HomePlug gear recalled
HomePlug technology is supposed to send Ethernet signals over electrical circuits, not send electricity through your body. That’s why Netgear yesterday recalled one of its HomePlug bridges and is offering a free repair kit.

MCI re-listed
MCI’s stock this week began trading on the Nasdaq after a two-year absence. The carrier is trading under the ticker symbol MCIP and says the “IP” at the end of its ticker is a nod to the company’s Internet heritage.

Powell: FCC forging ahead on VoIP rules
Bills to clarify the regulation of VoIP in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives probably won’t go up for consideration in Congress’ current session, but the FCC hopes to make progress on the issue by year-end, FCC Chairman Michael Powell told Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and venture capitalists on Tuesday evening.
