It looks like this will be a strong week for 10 Gigabit Ethernet, as several major vendors are set to crank out gear that supports the standard. Interestingly, much of it centers around 10GBase-CX4. This is the flavor of 10 Gigabit that runs over copper – the heavy InfiniBand kind – and only stretches across short distances. But there’s also high-end gear on tap from Enterasys and Foundry.
