ComNet conference to be rescheduled for fall
ComNet has always been one of the big networking trade shows, and in the Golden Age I could always count on attending ComNet and the two NetWorld+Interop shows to round out my year. But there’s only one N+I left, and last January we noted that ComNet attendance was way down. Now the show is being licensed out to a separate management company, the timing is changing and the scale is diminishing.

China’s Lenovo to buy IBM’s PC business
China’s Lenovo Group Wednesday signed a definitive agreement to acquire IBM’s PC division. Lenovo will pay $1.25 billion in cash for the business, which is expected to transform it into the world’s No. 3 PC maker, the companies announced.
