* Cisco prepares new version of CCIE for June

Anyone working to obtain a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert should know that Cisco is readying a new CCIE Security exam for June. The Security 2.0 exam (350-018) goes live on June 1 at all testing locations worldwide.

This test is required for the CCIE specialization in security, which targets experts at IP and IP routing as well as specific security protocols and components. (Go to for more information about the CCIE security track.)

Cisco says the revamped exam reflects advances in network security. Compared to the previous version, Security 2.0 places more emphasis on the following topics:

* Stand-alone intrusion detection system sensors.

* Stand-alone VPN concentrators.

* VPN/Security Management Systems.

* Advanced Encryption Standard and Extensible Authentication Protocol wireless protocols.
