* A new program for those seeking credentials from the Information Systems Security Certification Consortium
Are you seeking credentials from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC)2, but don’t have enough professional experience to qualify yet? There’s a new stepping stone available – the Associate of (ISC)2.
The new program is designed for those who have the smarts to pass the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) exams before they log the experience required for certification. CISSP, designed for those who devise security strategy, requires four years of professional experience in the field. The SSCP, which is geared to pros pursuing a tactical security path, requires one year of experience.
“The Associate program is designed to accelerate the professional growth of practitioners worldwide by encouraging individuals entering the field to be formally trained, pass a rigorous exam, and subscribe to (ISC)2’s Code of Ethics as early as possible in their careers,” says James Duffy, executive director of (ISC)2 and a CISSP. “The program is ideal for those accumulating their first experience in the field and for students looking toward a future career in our profession.”
After passing either exam and signing the certification organization’s Code of Ethics, the CISSP or SSCP candidate must accrue the required work experience and successfully complete a professional endorsement process before becoming officially certified.
