Qwest Communications this week announced managed service enhancements to its Web hosting services.

The enhancements offer additional dedicated support, new disaster recovery options and a choice of hosting sites.

The new managed hosting services enable customers to purchase tailored configurations of services to meet specific hosting needs. Customers’ options include monitoring and management of operating systems, Web traffic, mail, enterprise applications and databases 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; a choice of having hosting services provided at a Qwest CyberCenter, on the customer’s premise or at an alternate site; hourly consulting services; and a Web portal offering real-time viewing of hosting environments.

Dedicated customer service managers provide customers with a single point of contact to address hosting needs. New data recovery options range from four to 24 hours, and physical site recovery comes in one-week, 72-hour and 24-hour options.

New service-level agreements are intended to guarantee implementation timeframes and end-to-end availability of an application.
