Blogger TripHow.com writes a scathing post on the so-called Microsoft hotel, the Hotel Sax Chicago. Hotel Sax wants to become a geek playground. The 16-story building is a pilot project for Microsoft. Its claim to fame is a lounge called the Studio equipped with five Xbox 360 Elite game stations, Microsoft Zune players pre-loaded with music and movies, a couple of laptops with Internet access and a Microsoft Windows home entertainment system using Windows Vista Media Center.
While such a lounge might be interesting for the non-geek family, true geeks would be put off by it, TripHow maintains. Geeks travel with their own electronic devices (most of which are not made by Microsoft), and what turns them on is lots of desk space to arrange their screens, plenty of wireless (and wired) bandwidth and easy access to power outlets where batteries aplenty can be recharged.
