A New User Group for System Center users

Analysis
Apr 1, 20082 mins

The System Center Virtual User Group was launched on March 27th. This is a user group dedicated to providing resources for education and collaboration for users of Microsoft System Center technologies worldwide. Check it out at www.systemcenterusergroup.com.

To get the user group off to a fun start, we were discussing the possibility of having a contest for the best System Center solution, and need to know if you would be willing to participate. Please read the following, and send a comment to https://www.systemcenterusergroup.com/blogs/administrator/archive/2008/03/31/how-about-a-contest-your-feedback-requested.aspx if you’re willing to “play.”

The contest would showcase the best System Center community solution for a number of categories; these include custom management packs (Operations Manager or System Center Essentials), configuration packs (Configuration Manager), scripts (any System Center product), and so on. Users would submit entries to the site where they would be judged by a panel of experts. Prizes include things such as a XBOX 360 (overall winner), Zune for first couple of runners up, and then books (such as System Center Operations Manager 2007 Unleashed!) and miscellaneous prizes for runners-up in different categories.

If you are willing to participate, register on the systemcenterforum.com site (its free) and add a comments to the post at https://www.systemcenterusergroup.com/blogs/administrator/archive/2008/03/31/how-about-a-contest-your-feedback-requested.aspx. Already it looks like there will be a good number of participants, so what are you waiting for?

The user group will also be at MMS 2008, visit them in the Community area or the Infront booth. The Management Summit is scheduled to be held the week of April 28th, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. They’ll be podcasting, giving away user group t-shirts, and holding drawings for assorted prizes!

This announcement is appearing in multiple places, including www.techlog.org.
