Day 30
Got another call from Bill Groff at Aplus.net. He has heard back from the hiring manager for the position he talked to me about yesterday.
Even though I am not as strong as they would like in terms of specific Asterisk experience, they want me to come in for an interview. They look more at the person’s aptitude for doing the job, not just how much they know about the specific technology.
They are booked today and I told him that I had an interview on the far side of Kansas City tomorrow so that would pretty much block the day for me. We tentatively set a time for the interview at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. He will call me back if there are any problems.
We talked about how he had found my information. He had seen my resume on Dice. He told me that he has had the poorest response in terms of quality for job postings on Monster. And it is also the most expensive to use. This is the second time I have heard from a recruiter/HR type that Monster is not giving them the results they would expect for what they have to pay to post a job opening.
Had just sent Kevin Matheson at Technisource an email about the interview I now have Thursday afternoon when he called me to re-schedule for 9:30 a.m. He will get back with me as to specifics on where to go, who I will be talking to, etc.
After the phone calls settled down, I check the job boards. Nothing new on any of them.
Filled out the forms sent to me by the HR at US Central Credit Union. Will need to have that ready for when I meet with their HR person later tomorrow after I have interviewed with the folks that are scheduled before that meeting.
