Dave says that the problem with Vista was not in making too many incremental improvements, but by adding too much bloat (and compounding that with a new device driver model).Redmond Magazine writes in an editorial (https://redmondmag.com/features/article.asp?EditorialsID=564) that right now, Microsoft is sitting pretty; although “there’s accumulating evidence that its place on the perch could be getting more precarious.”

The question regarding the end of the Windows desktop has been around almost as long as Windows. At one point it was thought that thin clients would spell the end of WinTel. Or was that going to be Linux? Or the Mac? Or will Windows be around for a long time? … only time will tell.
