Bit of late notice here, but for those of you in the Boston area, the IEEE-USA Innovation Institute is holding its Innovation Forum at the Westin Waltham Boston in Waltham, Mass., this week from June 10-12. The event really gets going tomorrow, so still time to head over there and check it out. The agenda listed on the web site is a bit on the vague side, but the general idea is to yap about how to convert ideas and inventions into things people can actually use. Speakers include:
- Peggy Hutcheson, a leader in organization development, human capital management, and leadership with more than 20 years experience working with scientists, engineers and technical professionals.
- Howard Lieberman, founder and CEO of the Silicon Valley Innovation Institute who invented new technologies at the Bose Corporation, Apple Computer and each of the five companies he founded.
- Alain Rostain, co-founder and principal of Innovation Styles, Inc., a strategic innovation consulting firm.
- Mauro Togneri, a former president and senior executive of U.S. companies with R&D, sales and manufacturing operations around the world.
- Steve Walker, an entrepreneur and former Defense Department engineer who helped develop the ARPAnet packet switching system that evolved into the Internet.
