Seems like Essential Business server isn’t all that essential in Microsoft’s eyes, at least judging by its non-existence at
TechEd, reports Bink.nu’s RayC. He says that two products currently in beta are AWOL from the show: Small Business Server 2008 (in beta since May 29, he says) and Windows Essential Business Server aka Centro (in beta since May 13, he says). He writes:
Both products consist of a suite of applications of which three are already officially released like Windows Server 2008, Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1, System Center Essentials. The following products that are part of the suite are still in beta and are planned to be released before the end of 2008: Forefront for Exchange, Forefront Threat Management Gateway, SQL Server 2008. … Small Business Server 2008 only gets a single session at the conference.
Both suites are not in the exhibition area or hands-on-labs, he attests.
