Interesting findings from a pair of brothers in Canada about the differences in searching the Web between men and women. The brothers, one a doctoral student and the other a marketing professor, found that men preferred a deeper site in which they could use their “hunting” skills to find info, whereas women leaned toward staying closer to the homepage to gather info.
“So if all of this has a little bit of truth to it then we would notice that the women would much prefer the wide structures, simply because there are a lot of landmarks, compared to the deep structure, which you need an internal compass to go through lots of links,” study author Philippe Stenstrom told CTV.ca.
