IEEE-USA President Russ Lefevre said at a conference in Minnesota this week that the next Administration needs to make investment in science, engineering and technology a priority. Among other things, that means living up to the America Competes Act of 2007, which called for a doubling of NSF and other funding:

“Everybody supports science, motherhood and apple pie, but when it comes to funding, it’s a different story,” Lefevre said during a Q&A session.

Lefevre said particular focus needs to be put on energy advances.
