Microsoft’s managed services business gains three new customers

Two years after creating its managed services division, Microsoft inked deals with three more pilot customers. This is in addition to its flagship customer, battery maker Energizer Holdings. Microsoft runs a deployment of Exchange Server, Sharepoint, Live Communications Server and remote desktop management through its System Management Server product for 8,000 Energizer desktop users. New customers include XL Capital in Bermuda and two more that did not wish to be named, said Ron Markezich, vice president of Microsoft managed services. Read more.

Microsoft has been trying to sell itself as a Software-as-a-service provider. Four customers doesn’t exactly prove the point but the success/failure of this venture will be interesting to watch.
