Yet here we learn that ESPN, the final arbiter of what is and is not worthwhile sport, has bought the world’s largest Web site devoted exclusively to cricket: cricinfo.com, “The Home of Crickett.”
“We don’t think of ourselves as an American sports television company,” Russell Wolff, ESPN International executive vice president and managing director, told Reuters. “We think of ourselves as a large sports and media entertainment company that operates around the world.”
