According to the results of a survey by Evans Data, of over 400 North American software developer, Windows is losing ground to Linux as the platform of choice for application development. Those targeting Windows decreased by 12% in the last twelve months – making for two years of decline in a row, the report says. But Linux gained an impressive 34%. On the other hand, in absolute numbers that large increase doesn’t add up to a whole lot. The number of Windows developers – at 64.8% still wallops the number coding for Linux, at 11.8%.
