You think you’ve got it bad

Think your job sucks? Well it could be worse. You could be the director of IT at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Network World has unearthed a resignation letter from a J.W. Coxrid, addressed to the late headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.

The letter describes Coxrid’s failed attempts to deploy an OC-3 fibre backbone at the school, and his run-ins with students who removed antennas from wireless access point to make wands. There was also the mystery of the so-called magical interference problem that Cisco Tech Support couldn’t solve. On top of that, Coxrid’s team lost switches and equipment worth in excess of 18,000 galleons, thanks to flooding caused by Moaning Myrtle.

Read Coxrid’s letter in full and click here for more about Coxrid the man and his attempt to develop something called an xPhone before his untimely death as a desitute drunk in 2002.
