Lots of details about Cisco’s plans for two advanced network design certifications
From the Field blogger Michael Morris came back from Networkers with a notebook full of notes from Cisco’s private meeting with 50 CCIEs at the conference to thrash out ideas for two yet-to-be-launched high-level certifications for network designers. The practical exams for the certs will take a new form for Cisco as they will not be lab-based. Read Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 of Michael’s report.
Talking of Cisco certs, Cisco rewrote 90% of the course for its Cisco Certified Design Professional certification.

A Network World Clear Choice Test of 13 network-access control products found Cisco NAC lag competitors in advanced features.
PIX bug
On Thursday, Heise Security reported that “three bug in older software versions of Cisco PIX security appliances may jointly cause emails with headers signed using Domainkeys Identified Mail (DKIM, RFC 4871) to be rejected.”
