Thanks to a reminder by BlogSquad member and fellow panelist Denise Wakeman, I want to pass the reminder on and remind you folks about the Wells Fargo Webcast tomorrow entitled Technology and Your Business. Register here, and soon the archived version will be available from this same page. You will have to provide a bit of information for access, like with most Webcasts and white paper requests, but nothing unusual. It would be great to have a question from a regular Network World reader, although any questions are welcome. Between the three expert panelists (me, Denise, and Russel Morgan) and the moderator (Robb Boyd from Cisco’s TechWise TV) most small business technology questions should be covered. Feel free to send a question and see if we can answer. Interesting that Mark Gibbs talks about backup today, since I address that topic on the Webcast. I’ve been testing the SonicWall TZ 180 Wireless router / firewall etc., part of their TotalSecure Internet Security Appliance line, and it’s pretty impressive. Look for more details soon. If you have questions about stepping up to a more capable and feature rich router and security appliance, let me know and I’ll see if the TZ 180 does what you need. So far it does everything and more that I look for when reviewing an Internet appliance.

Do people really fall for those idiotic spam messages touting some unknown company as the next big stock market winner? According to this story, they do, and stocks do jump. Hard to believe people with money to invest fall for such nonsense. But as long as they do, there will be money to be made with spam so it won’t go away. What a shame.
