PerformancePoint Server 2007 due in September

Microsoft said it will launch a major component of its business intelligence platform in New York on Sept. 20: PerformancePoint Server 2007. This server is part its BI package which includes SQL Server 2008 (code-named Katmai) and will be integrated with Office 2007. SQL Server, however, isn’t scheduled to ship until the second quarter of 2008.

PerformancePoint is the product based on Microsoft’s acquisition of ProClarity. ProClarity made “corporate performance management” software which includes BI components that links to budgeting/forecasting data and provides some compliance-ware, according to eWeek. Read more.
