Today I’m changing gears a bit and moving back to exam content rather than exam strategies – while always keeping in mind the average 1:10 or so for the average exam question. We had a great response on last week’s survey, where lots of people answered as to how long it took them to answer the question. So, I’ll try another survey with this question, again so we can all get a general idea of the time taken – at least for the group that’s watching this space.

By the way, last Wednesday’s survey for last week’s subnetting question has 57 votes as of this morning, with roughly 1/3 (20 votes) getting into the 90+ seconds category, and 7% (4) getting the answer in less than 15 seconds.

This week’s question is a good example of how you can answer very quickly if you have a firm understanding of the underlying concepts. However, if you’ve just memorized the definition, but not thought about how it really works, this question can give you a bit of heartburn. It should be interesting to see the results. Here’s the survey, up at the top of the blog in part to protect you from seeing the figure used with the question until you have a chance to start your timer, if you want to play along.
