CellTrust comes away with this week’s Obvious Press Release Headline Award for its “There Was No Need to Get Caught Naked Online”. The company is trying to capitalize on reports that actor Ashton Kutcher left his cellphone – containing multiple naughty pictures of his wife, Demi Moore – in a taxi cab while on vacation in France and now the cab driver is holding the phone for a $1 million ransom. CellTrust says its technology can be used to remote “wipe” a cell phone of data the second one realizes the device is lost. Fine idea, but isn’t it a better idea to maybe NOT keep the naked pics of your spouse on a phone?!? Aren’t you asking for trouble when you leave such images on a portable device that is easily lost? My wife would string me up for the pics alone. Losing them in a public spot would mean I would have to find a witness protection program for stupid husbands.
